Window Energy Ratings Requirements

From 1st October 2010 the new standard for domestic replacement windows will be:

England & Wales

Either an energy rating of C or a whole window U-value of 1.6 W/m2K

Replacement doors, a U-value of 1.8 W/m2K

Scotland

Either an energy rating of C or a whole window U-value of 1.6 W/m2K

Replacement doors, a U-value of 1.6 W/m2K

To install energy rated windows, the supplier and/or fabricator needs to register their company and windows with one of the approved Window Energy Rating Schemes as detailed below in order to comply with the regulations:  If the company and/or window is not registered, it can only be sold and installed with a U-value declaration.
