Get out of the red with VEKA

As a dedicated environmentalist with an academic background in Sustainability, Dr Hazel Carnegie had extremely high standards when replacing her old windows with VEKA ‘A’ rated counterparts.

So high in fact, that she employed ‘before and after’ thermal technology to test industry claims that VEKA ‘A’ rated windows significantly improve household insulation and reduce carbon emissions.

Needless to say, she has not been disappointed!

Manufactured by Sash UK; a long standing VEKA fabricator, and installed by Aberdeen’s Thistle Windows & Conservatories Ltd; an award-winning member of Network Veka, the ‘A’ rated windows have, of course, made a world of difference.

The red areas in the first image highlight where heat was being rapidly lost from Dr Carnegie’s home, whereas the consistent green colour in the after shot is indicative of a well insulated property.

The findings are nothing short of amazing and are a testament to VEKA, Sash UK and Thistle Windows & Conservatories; three names synonymous with quality and superiority. Choosing the most efficient windows and leading by example was very important to Dr Carnegie as she is involved in a number of campaigns in Scotland – such as the Carbon Countdown to Homes and Street by Street, House by House – which encourage others to make their home more environmentally friendly. She is therefore delighted with the results and plans to use the images in forthcoming campaigns.

Commenting upon the impressive results, Colin Torley, VEKA Sales and Marketing Director, said: ‘Veka is the market leading profile system in the UK and our technical expertise is second to none’,  ‘VEKA paved the way for the creation of the first BFRC ‘A’ rated window and the results of the thermal images show that our continued investment into the technical performance of our product is indeed money well spent.’

David Ruzicka, Joint Managing Director of Sash UK, also added: ‘I’m delighted that VEKA, Sash UK and Thistle Windows & Conservatories Ltd. have been able to combine to such great effect and help Dr Carnegie improve the energy efficiency of her home.’

‘The thermal images are a fitting acknowledgement of the work that goes in to producing and installing ‘A’ rated windows, at every stage of the window supply chain.’
