Industry-leading PVC-U system supplier VEKA plc has once again treated several long-serving staff to a weekend in Germany.
The annual trip has been running since 2001 and is organised for employees who have worked at the Burnley-based company for a decade or more. Ten members of staff were invited, accompanied by the Managing Director of VEKA plc Dave Jones and Sales and Marketing Director Colin Torley.
Friday afternoon saw the group visit VEKA plc's parent company VEKA AG for a tour of the plant with Andreas Hartleif, the VEKA Group's Chairman. The Senderhorst plant is around four times the size of the Burnley facility and operates an impressive 90 extrusion lines.
Over the weekend the visitors took in a football match (Borussia Mönchengladbach v Wolfsburg) and also went for a meal at a restaurant in Düsseldorf's old town where they were joined by Michael Pattalon, the Group Controller.
Colin Torley says, “We are always looking for ways to show our appreciation for staff loyalty and this trip also provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds between VEKA's English and German operations.”
