Staff and customers of VEKA plc have been enjoying a range of celebrations recently, thanks to the fact that the industry-leading system supplier has reached its 25th anniversary of manufacturing in the UK.
16th May 2011 was the big day and VEKA has celebrated with a dinner dance at Turf Moor, attended by more than 200 people and a hugely successful fun day at the Farrington Road factory. The company also sent cards to all staff and customers as well as producing commemorative clocks and bottles of wine to mark the occasion.
Colin Torley, VEKA's Sales and Marketing Director, explains: “We arranged a number of events, as we really wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff and customers who have supported us over the years.
“We organised a dinner dance for more than 200 people, and a family fun day which attracted around 300 visitors. As well as the opportunity to tour the production facility and learn a little more about what we do, during the fun day there was also a raffle, bouncy castle, ice cream van, bucking bronco, magician, carousel and animatronic puppets to keep the kids entertained.
“VEKA paid for the events, but thanks to the generous donations of our visitors we also raised around £800 for the British Heart Foundation; VEKA's current chosen charity.”
